2019 Ford Edge vs 2019 Honda CR-V | Hamden, CT

Ford Edge

Honda CR-V

Deciding which crossover is right for your family can be difficult, as there are a number of options out there. We want your decision to be as simple as possible, which is why we’ve decided to compare two of the most popular crossover options — the 2019 Ford Edge and 2019 Honda CR-V. Here is a look at why you should consider making the Ford Edge your next crossover vehicle.

Performance and Capability

When it comes to performance, the Edge definitely has an edge over the CR-V. Both models offer two engine options, but the Edge’s offerings are more powerful. The Edge comes standard with a twin-scroll 2.0-liter EcoBoost® engine, which puts out 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The CR-V’s standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine produces 184 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque.

The Edge’s second engine option also stands out from its competitor. Its 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost® engine pumps up the power with 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. The CR-V’s most powerful engine, a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder, doesn’t even come close to these numbers with its maximum 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque.

Technology

Technology is a big focus in both models. No matter which one you choose, you will find features like a touchscreen display, advanced driver-assistance tech, and Bluetooth®. In the Ford, though, you will receive the SYNC® infotainment system, which includes an enhanced voice recognition system. You will also have an optional trial subscription to SiriusXM®, which another available feature in the CR-V — Ford just offers a trial that is twice as long as Honda’s.

Interior Space

The 2019 Edge and 2019 CR-V offer enough seating for five passengers to stretch out, which make them appealing to families. In regard to interior space, though, the Edge offers more than the CR-V. Ford’s crossover has 113.9 cubic feet of cabin space, while the CR-V only offers 102.9 cubic feet — that means there’s almost 10 extra cubic feet of space for your passengers to stretch out in the Edge. This is a big difference that can be seen in the Edge’s 42.6 inches of front legroom compared to the CR-V’s 41.2 inches, along with the Edge’s 40.3 inches headroom in the back seats.

The best way to experience the 2019 Ford Edge is to sit behind the wheel! Schedule a test drive below or pass along any questions about the vehicle’s features or price. Include any concerns you may have regarding financing or trade values too, and we will respond promptly.
