2023 Ford Edge

The new 2023 Ford Edge is available in one of five trims. The entry-level trim is the SE, which steps up to the midrange SEL, then the sporty ST-Line, the full luxury Titanium trim, and the ST performance-level trim. You'll find plenty of appearance touches at different trim levels, including things like special badging and accent trims, as well as carbonized and gloss-black wheels. Body colors include Silver Metallic, Forged Green Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Stone Blue, Burgundy Velvet, Atlas Blue, Agate Black Metallic, Star White, and Rapid Red.

The 2023 Ford Edge is powered by one of two engines. The base engine that runs every trim except for the ST is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that produces 260 horsepower and generates 280 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. If you opt for the ST trim level, you get a more powerful V-6 engine at 2.7 liters, which gives you a robust 335 horsepower and generates 380 pound-feet to back it up. This engine is matched with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

The 2023 Edge comes with all-wheel drive as standard on every trim level. This already sets it above some other competitors that make you pay up for AWD as an option. You will find that the steering is nicely weighted for precise cornering, the handling is confident and agile, and the braking is solid. Shifting is butter-smooth with both transmissions, and acceleration is in line with other SUVs in the same class. The Edge gets an EPA-estimated 21 mpg on city roads and 28 mpg on highways, though slightly less with the ST trim.

Ford knows how to blend capability with comfort, and the Edge is no exception with a refined, comfortable cabin offering touches of luxury, supportive seating, and quality materials throughout. The available full-leather upholstery gives an upscale sensibility, as do the ultramodern lines. It boasts 39.2 cubic feet of space in the back, which expands with the seats folded down to 73.4 cubic feet. The technology is powered by the highly regarded Ford SYNC system, which is among the most respected on the market today. Noise-canceling technology and a refined suspension ensure a smooth, serene ride.

Every Ford Edge model is equipped with Ford's active intelligent driver aid suite, called Ford Co-Pilot 360. Right out of the gate, you get features like blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alerts, lane-departure and lane-keeping features, front collision warnings and emergency braking functionality, and automatic high beams. At higher levels, you bolster these with the Co-Pilot 360 Assist+ suite of driver aids. These add automatic evasive steering in emergency situations, full GPS navigation, and adaptive cruise control. For additional security, at the SEL trim you can get Ford's special entry keypad called SecuriCode.
